Recently, students majoring in optoelectronics from Changchun University of Science and Technology visited Changchun Boxin Photoelectric Co., Ltd for precision optics-themed internship training. The training has been successfully completed, building a bridge connecting classroom theories with industrial practice.
Organized and guided throughout by the General Administration Department together with the technical engineer team of Boxin , this internship adopted progressive learning modules. During theoretical training sessions, engineers delivered special lectures covering core topics including optical component design, spherical and cylindrical lens fabrication processes, optical inspection specifications, coating principles, as well as optical lens design and alignment. Closely combined with real on-site production cases, the lectures broke down key engineering practices such as lens integration and assembly, matching and selection of optical components, and optical system adjustment. They sorted out technical priorities and common process challenges in precision optics manufacturing, supplemented practical engineering experience beyond textbooks, and patiently answered various academic questions raised by students, helping them connect theories with manufacturing practices.
Following the theoretical sessions, all interns toured the production workshops, quality inspection zones and finished product warehouses in sequence. The students observed the full production line of optical components and optical lenses, learning about key processes from optical substrate cutting, grinding and polishing, to surface figure testing, coating, lens assembly & alignment and final inspection. They gained direct insight into the whole manufacturing workflow of optical products from raw materials to finished goods, and viewed various processing and testing equipment up close, forming a more concrete and comprehensive understanding of precision optics manufacturing and optical lens system integration.
The hands-on practice session was the most anticipated part for the students. With one-on-one safety guidance from engineers, the students carried out practical optical polishing exercises and optical inspection tasks. They experienced how polishing modifies the surface figure of optical elements, and performed visual verification on indicators including component appearance and surface condition in strict accordance with process requirements. Through hands-on operation, the students truly understood the industry rule for optical fabrication that a tiny error leads to huge deviation, and fully recognized the stringent requirements on machining accuracy and operating specifications in precision manufacturing.
The internship concluded successfully. Boxin keeps promoting school-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation. Leveraging its platform for precision optical processing and optical lens R&D and manufacturing, the company provides industrial practice opportunities for university students. In this training program, students achieved deep integration of theoretical knowledge and industrial practice, accumulated first-hand manufacturing experience and broadened their professional horizons. Going forward, Boxin will further deepen school-enterprise cooperation, strengthen the construction of the industry-university-research exchange platform, and work with universities to improve practical talent training pathways, supporting the development and growth of specialized talents in the optoelectronics sector.
