As a national strategic high-tech industry, the optoelectronic information sector represents a priority field where China is well-positioned to achieve pioneering breakthroughs. Recently, an expert group headed by Academician Jiang Huilin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering conducted an on-site research visit to Changchun Boxin Photoelectric Co., Ltd. A panel of academicians and experts from universities and research institutes toured the enterprise to assess industrial development trends and offer suggestions for technological innovation and future growth. The visiting expert group comprised multiple academicians, research specialists and management experts: Academician Jiang Huilin (Chinese Academy of Engineering, Changchun University of Science and Technology), Academician Wang Lijun (Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, CAS), Academician Lin Jun (Chinese Academy of Engineering, Jilin University), Wang Hongyan (Jilin Provincial Military-Civil Integration Development Service Center), Chen Tao (Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, CAS), Professor Liu Zhi (Changchun University of Science and Technology), Professor Yu Han, Professor Jiang Hong (Jilin University), together with numerous researchers from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jilin University and Changchun University of Science and Technology. The company’s management team, key technical backbones, as well as alumni representatives from Changchun University of Science and Technology took part in the research and exchange activities.

The expert delegation first visited the product exhibition area on the 1st-floor reception lobby. They viewed core optical exhibits and watched the corporate promotional video to gain intuitive understanding of the company’s development history, product portfolio, market applications and industrial contributions.



The group then moved to the conference room on the third floor for a special symposium. At the meeting, the company delivered a comprehensive report covering business operation status, core process capabilities, product application achievements and future development plans. Alumni-engineers from Changchun University of Science and Technology held interactive discussions with visiting experts on industry trends, further strengthening industry-university-research ties.



Following the symposium, experts went deep into front-line production workshops. They toured the cylindrical lens polishing production line, assembly and commissioning area for telephoto lenses, precision-instrument inspection laboratory, ultra-precision machining workshop and large ring-swinging polishing workshop. The experts observed the full manufacturing workflow of optical components in detail, and made in-depth inquiries about machining challenges, process control, product inspection and mass-delivery capacity. They acknowledged the company’s dedication to precision optical manufacturing and its efforts to secure supply of fundamental components for the optoelectronic industry.

During exchanges, Academician Jiang Huilin elaborated on the national strategic positioning of the optoelectronic information industry — a widely-applied high-tech sector where China can realize pioneering advances. Against the backdrop of Northeast China revitalization and Jilin Province’s No.1 Project to build “China Optoelectronics City”, the academician pointed out that scientific instruments and optical components form the cornerstone of industrial development.
